TREE PLANTING-APRIL 27TH
The Farmington Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be conducting a tree planning project on April 27th at the north meadow of Matthies Grove Peoples Forest Recreation area on East River Road in Barkhamsted CT. This event coincides with Arbor Day and also celebrates the 100th year anniversary of Peoples Forest. We will be partnering with FALPS (Friends of Peoples and American Legion State Forests) on the project.
Event is scheduled from 9:00 to 1:00. Coffee and donuts will be provided in the morning as well as hot dogs for lunch. FVTU will also provide a gas powered auger to make the plantings easier. Volunteers should bring gloves, shovels, rakes and insect repellent.

State Representative Mark Anderson presented this at our last (Feb) member meeting.
We have been working with him, TU National, FRCC, FRAA on a new River Flow agreement since MDC is stepping away from dam/water control.
An ongoing project (years) that starts with the 2 bills proposed in the PDF.
