Farmington Valley TU was proud to support the 71st Riverton Fishing Derby held on 4/10/2021. Even though the traditional opening day was not held due to an early opening proclamation by the governor, the excitement was still felt by all those in attendance. FVTU members assisted children and parents at Zak’s Pool which is reserved for those anglers 10 and under. A few members also brought their children and grand kids to help with the stocking the night before. Once the 6:00am horn sounded under beautiful skies the action was fast and furious. Many fish were caught with many being released to provide future action for other anglers. FVTU would like to congratulate the guys from The Trophy Trout Club and Gilman Dube for a successful derby. FVTU volunteers are already looking forward to supporting the event next year.
